In order to achieve the enterprise mission of green and environmental protection, the environmentally friendly silicone material used in each product has been inspected by SGS, certified by the EU RoHS non-toxic environmental protection standard, and has passed the REACH chemical composition registration, is an EU-licensed import product. But what exactly are SGS inspection, RoHS, and REACH?
With the rise of global environmental protection and health awareness, consumers are paying more and more attention to the safety of the products they use, and this phenomenon is also reflected in international trade import and export regulations. People began to pay attention to whether the products used passed a certain test. The EU has also formulated safety regulations for chemical substances in imported products.
As the world moves towards the concept of green and environmental protection, manufacturers must also keep pace with the times to bring people a sustainable environment, avoid being harmful to the human body, and reduce land pollution. In order for Bone to achieve the corporate mission of green and environmental protection, the environmentally friendly silicone material used in each product has been tested by SGS, certified by the EU RoHS non-toxic environmental protection standard, and has passed the REACH chemical composition registration, and is an EU-licensed import product.
Isn't it a bit confusing to hear this way? It is SGS, and then it is RoHS, and then there is a more unfamiliar test called REACH. But don't worry, today, Bone is here to introduce 3 types of safety inspections, namely SGS, RoHS, and REACH.
What is SGS?
Many people will mistakenly think that SGS is an official inspection undertaken by government agencies. In fact,SGS is a neutral private international inspection agency.。
The old French name of SGS is called Société Générale de Surveillance, translated as "Swiss General Surveyor". It was established in 1878 to inspect the quality of imported grains in international trade. In the mid-20th century, SGS began to provide diversified services such as testing, inspection and certification. Now it has become the world’s largest international commodity inspection company, with diversified inspection items, covering inspection, testing and certification in professional fields such as food, agricultural products, consumer products, industry and mining, and biomedicine. Because of its good verification effect, it has credibility in the international community.
In a word, SGS is a company that has inspected the safety of materials and product components; durability and safety under certain environmental conditions; international certification testing and other professional inspections. The inspection will be carried out according to the testing or certification items required by the industrialist.
Although SGS inspection is very popular in international trade, the European Union has established a set of standards to restrict the import of harmful substances. For products to enter the EU, they must comply with the EU's environmental protection directives and chemical registration regulations, that is, they must pass the RoHS test and follow the REACH regulations. As for what exactly is RoHS and REACH? Let's continue to read.
What is RoHS?
The full name of RoHS is Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, the purpose is to prevent discarded electronic and electrical products from affecting human health and environmental safety.
This directive has now become a mandatory standard, and the electrical and electronic equipment regulated by the RoHS directive includes:
1. Large household appliances
2. Small household appliances
3. Information technology and telecommunications equipment
4. Consumer durable equipment
5. Lighting equipment
6. Motors and electronic tools
7. Toys, leisure and sports equipment
8. Medical equipment
9. Monitoring and control equipment
10. Vending Machine
The controlled chemical substances are:
1. Lead(Pb)(0.1%)
2. Mercury(Hg)(0.1%)
3. Cadmium(Cd ), the maximum allowable content is 0.01% (100ppm)
4. Chromium(CrVI)(0.1%)
5. Polybrominated biphenyl(PBB)(0.1%)
6. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs), the maximum allowable content is 0.1%(1000ppm)
7. Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) (0.1%)
10. Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1%)
11. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1%)
12. Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0.1%)
Before the products are imported into EU countries, they must undergo RoHS inspection, and only after passing the certification can they enter the European market. In addition, to enter the EU market, in addition to complying with RoHS, it must also comply with REACH regulations.
What is REACH?
Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) is a green environmental protection regulation implemented by the European Union on June 1st, 2007. Its purpose is to identify the production and use of chemical components, and whether it has an impact on the human body and the environment.
REAH is there to make sure that all chemicals entering the European market are required to be registered, evaluated and licensed, it is a compulsory requirement. Some chemical substances will be restricted.
Meaning of each word in REACH:
Registration:REACH requires that any company that manufactures or imports 1 metric ton of chemical substances must register these chemical substances with the European Chemical Agency (ECHA). Manufacturers, agents, importers, and other supply chain actors must be familiar with the chemical composition of the products, in order to be aware of the health and safety of their products.
Evaluation: The professional institutions of EU countries evaluate whether chemical substances are harmful. Evaluation includes file evaluation and material report evaluation provided by the company. If the item is harmful to the human body and the environment, the European Chemical Agency will require the company to submit a further report.
Authorization: The use of chemical components must be licensed by the European Chemical Agency. If the products contain chemicals that are "unacceptable to the human body and the environment", they will be reduced in stages and replaced with safer chemicals; or they may be completely banned.
Restriction of Chemicals: Some chemicals that are highly hazardous to the human body and the environment may be completely banned, and some may be restricted in use.
The unacceptable hazardous ingredients to the human body and the environment include:
* Carcinogen
* Mutagenic substances
* Substance of Carcinogenic
* Chemicals that are not easily decomposed, bioaccumulative and toxic chemicals
Simply explain the difference between RoHS and REACH:
RoHS:Electronic equipment must comply with the element content standards listed in the directive.
REACH:Covers all chemicals used in the manufacture of products, including materials, solvents, coatings and other chemical-related substances.
The above is an introduction to 3 common safety inspection signs. The safety inspection of elements must pass through a number of checkpoints before it can be delivered to consumers. This is the responsibility and mission of a company. In this way, consumers can then use it with confidence.
Bone's environmentally friendly silicone material has also been tested and certified to pass the RoHS non-toxic standard. It is hoped that everyone who buys Bone products will be more at ease.
